Adapted from the award-winning book by Philip Reeve, Mortal Engines takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where cities and towns travel across the world on wheels. With resources scarce, these mobile towns must prey on smaller ones to obtain the necessary materials to keep their towns running. But an opposition group is leading a rebellion, and a war is brewing between the Anti-Traction League and the predator cities. A mysterious girl named Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar) is on a mission, and she teams up with an outcast from London, Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan). Along the way, they meet a number of colorful and dangerous characters in this entertaining sci-fi film.
